New Beginnings is a community-based organization in Windsor-Essex that provides support, education, prevention, and intervention programs for children, youth, young adults, and families. Our services promote positive development, mental wellness, safety, and resilience.
We support children, youth, young adults, and families across Windsor-Essex. While some programs target specific age groups or needs (e.g., court support for child victims, mental health support for youth, parenting support), many others are open to the broader community.
We operate from two main locations: 1015 Highland Avenue and 1049 Janette Avenue in Windsor, Ontario. We also offer programming throughout the community at satellite locations.
Program hours vary by service:
· WECAPP: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Sunday 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM
· Child Victim/Witness (CVW): Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
· Attendance Centre: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
· Community & Clinical Programs: Daily, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Most of our services are free of charge thanks to government and community funding. Select specialized or elective programs may have associated fees, which will be clearly communicated during registration and intake.
Some programs require referrals (e.g., from police, probation, or schools), but many accept self-referrals. Contact us directly to discuss what programs might fit your needs.
Yes, individuals can participate in more than one program if they meet the criteria. Our staff can help coordinate services to best support you.
Yes, we are committed to maintaining confidentiality in all our programs, within legal and safety limits. We will always explain any exceptions to confidentiality during intake.
We aim to accommodate diverse language needs. We are a designated French Language Services (FLS) organization and offer services in both English and French. Please contact us to inquire about additional translation or interpretation supports.
We offer a mix of in-person and virtual services depending on the program. Please reach out for current availability.
You can register by contacting our office, speaking with a staff member, or completing an online interest form. Some programs may require an intake or eligibility assessment.
We aim to be inclusive and will work with you to understand and accommodate your child's needs whenever possible. Please contact us in advance to discuss specific supports.
Transportation support may be available for certain programs on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire with the program lead.
Our programs provide a safe, welcoming, and structured environment. Activities may include skill-building, recreation, group discussions, mentorship, and community engagement.
Yes. We offer several programs for youth who have been charged or are at risk of involvement with the justice system. These include diversion, reintegration, and skill-building supports. Our staff are here to help without judgment.
Absolutely. We have programs that support academic success, life skills, and building confidence. We can also connect with your school and other supports if needed.
Depending on your situation, you may be referred to one of our court support, mental health diversion, or youth justice-related programs. We can explain the process, help you understand your options, and support you through it.
We do our best to match you with a counsellor you feel comfortable with. If you have a preference, let us know, as we want you to feel safe and supported.
Many of our services can be accessed directly by youth. In some cases, parental or guardian involvement is encouraged or required, but we can talk through your options in confidence.
We work with children, youth, and young adults up to the age of 29, depending on the program. Some family supports and caregiver-focused services are also available.
No, many of our programs accept self-referrals. For others, such as those connected to the justice system, a referral may be required.
